A brand is more than image. Customers need to know they can trust you to provide something important and unique. They judge your store, your merchandise, your pricing and your web site; especially your web site. Research has shown that a web site is assessed in five areas. Ask yourself these questions:

  1. Content quality
    1. Does the site have what I am looking for?
    2. Is the content out of date?
    3. Is it written with authority or to the lowest common denominator?
    4. Am I providing them with the information they need?
  2. Ease of use
    1. Is it simple to navigate?
    2. Is it logical in its layout?
    3. Does it make sense?
    4. Does it take too long to find something?
    5. How long do they have to dig to find the information they're looking for?
  3. Performance
    1. Do the pages take forever to load?
    2. Does it crash?
    3. Does the functionality drag?
    4. Does it have to many flashing distractions?
  4. Satisfaction
    1. Is the overall experience satisfactory?
    2. Are they happy being on your site?
    3. Will they return?
  5. Brand value
    1. Does your site provide something of importance?
    2. Is it unique?
    3. What makes your special?
    4. How would you describe your brand in 20 words or less?
    5. Is the experience the same they would have in your store?

Your web site is a huge part of your branding. Does it portray you accurately?
