Have You Sent A Thank You Note Lately?
June 19, 2007

I ordered a bouquet of assorted colors of roses for my mother's birthday from 1-800-Flowers.com.  I chose them because the transation was easy to complete, it took me five minutes to select what I wanted and to check out. They sent me my confirmation email and two days later I got a phone call from Mom saying she just received them.  I love sending flowers because it's easy. Actually, I love buying most gifts online because I can select, pay for, and send them to their designation without having to leave my office chair.  For someone with limited time, it's the best thing since sliced bread.

A week after I sent the flowers, I get a card in the mail. Not from Mom, but from 1-800-Flowers, thanking me for using their services and including a coupon for 15% off my next purchase. I immediately started thinking of who else I could send flowers to before the coupon expires in late September.

I recommend sending a simple thank you if possible, whether it's to your favorite and most loyal customers, or first time shoppers.  This gesture they extended me has made me a fan.

Ideas for saying Thank You:
1.  Say it was a nice card you create on your computer or with your company's branding
2.  Send a free email greeting (or come up with your own)
3.  Create a coupon to send

There is a new neat site cropped up for the ultimate way to say "thank you" and that is to actually say it and send it on a talking gift tag. I have used one and they are brilliant for personal or corporate thanks. You can order off their site at www.pre.vu
