Adding Bling To Your Web Site
August 8, 2007

Shoppers are attracted to bling, that extra something that gets their attention and promises greater emotional rewards.  On your web site, read your product descriptions and find that one point that makes it distinctive, remarkable, unique or desirable.  You have a split second to engage your browsing customer, so boost your descriptive power to make it pop.  Use color, describe the style and the design, any additional features, why people are buying it, and what makes it useful.  Do the pants slenderize the female bottom?  Does the ring cause strangers to stare?  Does the toy engage the child's focus so much that the parent can have two hours of uninterrupted bliss?  Harness these positive emotions and ensure they're in the product content.

People don't buy an item because it has bling, but for the emotional performance it promises to deliver.  Example:  Life is easier with General Electric appliances.

Examples of "blingy"descriptions:
Comforter descriptions
Romantic bedroom furniture decor
Jewelry
