Podcasting Yourself....How Do You Do It?
August 16, 2007

Podcasting, the short segments that are streamed online covering everything from interviews and sound clips to informercials, are easy to create and easy to distribute.  According to one definition posted on podcastpeople.com, podcasts...allow everyday people to become self-published, online radio and TV personalities. Althought podcasts are like radio and TV, there are no constraints on time or content.  You can listen to podcasts wherever, however and whenever you chose.

So how do you get started?

  1. Buy a microphone for your computer, or a video
  2. Download free software to create your podcast (you must register to download)
  3. After you've installed the software, click on the record button and talk directly into your microphone.
  4. Edit it to allow for advertising opportunities (a good way to make additional revenue. It means, using the above software, that you add a little icon alerting mypodcast.com where they can insert sponsored ads)
  5. Publish it/upload it on multiple platforms, including your own web site, to gather attention.
Listen to a podcast now to get ideas.
