Your Web Address is Too Long. What Do You Do?

You have a great name on a storefront, but it's way too long for your web address. Or you bought a domain name that sounded fun and catchy a couple years ago, and the cuteness has fallen flat. What do you do? Buy a new domain name that fits your brand (you) and have your web site hosting company perform a redirect. You can also use this trick if you have broken pages that receive 404 errors or you have a marketing campaign that you want to run (example:www.KlineIsHavingaSale.com). Your web company, or in-house programmer, can manage this for you on a permanent basis, or for a short-term solution, you can use a company that does it for you.

When choosing a name, the limit imposed is 63 characters, but keep in mind the shorter (and easier to remember) the better. Here are some examples of what not to do:
