Do you practice what you preach?
September 12, 2008
It's a simple concept. Do you practice what you preach? I am learning it's a rare company who not only communicates well with each other, but also implements what they say they're going to do. In this connected age, it's the unsavvy owner/manager who thinks they're immune from gossip online. Nobody is anymore.
Viral marketing, or word-of-mouth, or Facebook, or blogging, has became the watchdog of all companies. People love information, and a quick search on any company usually reveals a tidbit of information. I don't need to remind anybody what bad press will do for you. There once was a saying that bad press was as good as good press in reminding people you exist. That was before the dawning of the Internet Age. Today, it can become a tidal movement that not only exposes corporate greed, shady deals, and the like, but it also costs customer loyalty, business closings, and ruined reputations.
Be smart and be aware. And search yourself online.
