Researching Your Target Market Online

Researching your target market online is a good idea every six to nine months.  Research sites that offer statistical data about the demographics, what they're buying, and the growth of internet use by segments makes your discovery phase easier.  Here are some sites to investigate:

As of May 2006, Harris found that 77 percent of U.S. adults - 172 million - were online at work, school, or home.  More seniors citizens, minorities, and low-income users now have internet access, which was accounted for a couple years ago.  I'm waiting for the new numbers to come up, but I believe they will be higher.

With the ever-changing landscape the internet provides, it's always wise to keep abreast of the changes and how they'll effect your business.
