Tray Table Advertising

June 10, 2007

While stuck in a seat for five hours—my trip to Vegas became the picture perfect opportunity for marketers. It was ideal…laminated ads on airplane pull-down tray tables.

When I pulled down the seatback tray and unfolded it to receive my little pack of pretzels and cran-apple juice—the tray table ad revealed one of the “million” shows playing in Las Vegas. I was detached from my PDA, cell phone, computer and office so all I could do was stare and commit the ad to memory.

As I read every little detail that surrounded the ad, I started to realize, not only is tray table advertising a great way to generate diverse sources of revenue for the airline, but it’s also a unique way for retailers to promote their businesses to travelers flying in and out of the city.

Have you ever thought of advertising your business on a tray table aboard an airline? I sell a commodity that is frequently purchased on a whim by men—jewelry. Charlotte is a city with numerous Fortune 500 companies and has business executives flying in and out of the city on a daily basis. To target men to purchase a gift while away from their loved one might be a great idea so I thought I’d reach out to all of you and ask if you’ve ever contemplated tray table advertising or know anyone who has tried it and succeeded?

Laminated ads in the inside of the tray table might be in the past. More innovative solutions are currently available makeing the owners (airlines) happier to use due to its simplicity and high quality. Many airline are currently use this product being called cuavio, a quick search will guide you to the right homepage.

Is it successful? You would be surpised from the airline replies. Contact them directly for further information.
