Creating Your Own Small Business Podcast
July 25, 2008

Wouldn’t you love to have a free radio show in which you could share knowledge about product specific items? You could, using the internet and a technology called podcasting. A podcast in an audio file listeners can download using one of several programs. Some steps to podcasting:

  1. Record. Record dialogue using a USB microphone available for twenty bucks or so and WireTap Studio Software available for about seventy-five dollars (some versions can be downloaded free from the net). Simply record yourself talking and the sound will be captured directly into the recording software as an MP3 file.
  2. Edit. You will need to edit the sound. Audacity is free and can be downloaded here. This will allow you to cut and edit out any parts you’re not satisfied with.
  3. Publish. You’ll now need a web hosting service to upload your podcast.
  4. Promote. Once you’ve published your podcast link your podcast to your company’s website and publicize it on your homepage. Let your customer’s know about it in your store and through advertising.
