Corporate Identity Theft by Your Own Employees
March 13, 2008

A couple of days ago my employee received a call from his credit card company letting him know they had issued a Fraud Alert for anyone using his MasterCard. He tried to inquire where the card was used but the credit card company was unable to disclose any information. After pondering long and hard—and researching his account online—he found out it was used the same day and at the same local business he had purchased something from.

There have been several new trends of identity theft and exposure of sensitive information by employees of the company. To avoid such theft and fraud many businesses have identified privacy officers and/or assembled teams to enforce the rules regarding sensitive customer and employee information. Don’t let your business become victims of financial and non-financial types of identity theft.
