Getting Customers To Trust You

The best time to get a customer to trust you is before they sign the contract. This way they are going into the project confident in your company.
Here are some tips in getting the customer to trust you and your company.
- Offer a Reference – Provide customers with either a written or verbal reference. Whether you provide a previous customers phone number (with their permission of course), or a letter written by a previous customer, providing a reference will show the customer you do not fear what others will say. Most potential customers will not call the reference, just providing one is usually enough.
- Create a Portfolio – Potential customers like to see previous work you have completed. Provide a Before/After photo portfolio of your work. Make sure some pictures show workers so the customer can not doubt the work was yours.
- Ask if the customer has ever experienced hiring a contractor. If they have, discuss any problem or successes they might have had with that experience. This will help you determine if the customer has any previous fears and help the customer trust you.
- Follow-Up – Set-up a follow-up appointment with the customer. In the first meeting leave materials for them to review. In the follow-up meeting discuss any concerns they have before signing contracts.
A couple easy steps in the beginning of a project can help avoid any problems that might arise during the project. These tips will help the customer trust you with their home and avoid any future trust problem the customer might have had.
