You Weren't Born With A Fair Certificate

Sometimes it seems as though life just isn’t fair. You don’t get the breaks that others get. You are not feeling as successful as you think you should. You are not accomplishing all the things that you set out in your business life to accomplish. Other people have such an easier time learning and applying new concepts. The lucky branch seems to strike everybody except you. People you grew up with seem to have more possessions, take more vacations, work less hours and have had things given to them that you just haven’t been lucky enough to get.

Success, money, accomplishments and accolades seem to come to everyone else but you. You work just as hard if not harder than others. You put in just as many hours if not more than everyone else, and yet nothing is ever easy for you. You have to try harder, work even more, study longer, and give more of yourself to achieve whatever it is you are working toward.

My mother-in-law used to always say that: “You weren’t born with a fair certificate.” I heard another person say recently that “fair” is where they give ribbons to pigs. “Fair” isn’t the business world. No matter what you do, how you do it, and how much you get recognized for it, there will always be times when you feel that you weren’t treated “fairly”. Well, that’s life!

Life isn’t “fair”. You have to make the breaks yourself. You may have to work harder and longer. You may have to study and read more. You also have to recognize the breaks when they do come and react accordingly. In sales you can make as much as you want to and work as hard and long as you feel. Every selling opportunity is a chance to excel and achieve success. Make the most of every opportunity and your “lucky breaks” will surely come. You are in control of your destiny.
