Whatever Works: The Value of Finding Creative Solutions
August 15, 2008

I love finding creative ways of doing things. It offsets my general lack of confidence with methods and models that impose one way of doing things on people as the right way.

Take the goal of saving money, for example. On boston.com, Marie C. Franklin tells the story of how she saved $12,000.00 over three years by simply stashing away her $5’s. Apparently, fewer five dollar bills exist than other denominations, which creates the opportunity to remove them from your "cash pool" in the first place - the assumption being that due to their relative scarcity, they'll never be missed. What a great idea!  Doable for some, but perhaps not for others.  And that’s the whole point.

So far, I have $10 bucks squirreled away.
